Bruce Springsteen

Another idol of mine, The Boss. I know that what I'm going to say next is probably known by the most of you, but I'm going to say it anyway, just in case ;)
Bruce's most popular song is probably 'Born in the USA'. The funny thing is that most people think it's a pro-America song, but actually it's not! The song actually deals with the negative effects of the Vietnam War on Americans. The song was also tributed to Springsteen's friends who fought  in the Vietnam War and some unfortunately didn't come back.
The funny thing is that even some highly educated Americans didn't understand the message of the song. President Ronald Reagan even mentioned the song in a speech:

 "America's future rests in a thousand dreams inside your hearts; it rests in the message of hope in songs so many young Americans admire: New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen. And helping you make those dreams come true is what this job of mine is all about."

 Apparently he also failed to notice was that Springsteen was very much a liberal and didn't support Reagan at all.

The Beatles ... again!

I know, I know, I'm a little obsessed by The Beatles. But I can't help that they are soooooo great. Everyone knows, I guess, the movie 'The Social Network'. It's about Facebook and how it's created. So everybody who's seen the movie has heard the wonderfull song at the end, well that's a song by The Beatles! It's called 'Baby, you're a rich man' and there are a few remarkable things about it.
* They made the song by combining two entirely different songs; 'One of the beautiful people' by John and 'Baby, you're a rich man' by Paul. They took the verses from John's song and the chorus from Paul's. 
* Apparently Mick Jagger (from the Rolling Stones) was present during the recording of the song. + His name appears on a session tape box, so probably he provided backing vocals near the end of the song.
